Experience the Edge of Norway in 48 hours, just like the MICHELIN Guide did. Follow in the footsteps of the prestigious food guide and experience the region from their perspective.

When the MICHELIN Guide travelled to the Stavanger region, they found more than just first-class dining experiences. They also discovered a region of contrasts, where fjords and mountains meet expansive farmland, where art and architecture are flourishing, and where every meal tells a story about the sea, the land and the people who live here on the edge of Norway.

This is your invitation to experience the same places as the MICHELIN Guide has done. --> Read the article from the MICHELIN Guide here.

Life on the Edge of Norway

  • Breakfast at Ostehuset Storhaug Øst. Ostehuset is a local icon where you can start your day surrounded by the aroma of fresh bread and other baked goods.
  • Head to Valbergtårnet for views of the city and the sea.
  • Enjoy the tranquillity of Byparken and visit Stavanger Cathedral, Norway's oldest, where Gothic lines meet the water mirror in Breiavatnet.

Art, colours and food

  • Add some colour to your day by visiting Fargegaten, Stavanger's most photographed street, where facades and street art tell the city's modern history.
  • Explore Stavanger's status as a street art capital, where the walls are the city's gallery, thanks to the NuArt Street Art Festival.
  • Visit unique places such as Kant®, stop by Helmer's Coffee and Tea, or Chili Chocolate for handmade chocolate, perhaps with a hint of chilli, a small but tasty stop between experiences.
  • Then head to Stavanger's international food street, Pedersgata! Lunch at Bellies, a MICHELIN Guide-recommended restaurant known for its plant-based menu and creative flavours.
