The Stavanger region features a range of small and large cultural venues. Stavanger offers a wide selection of venues, including the Rogaland Theatre, Stavanger Concert Hall, which also houses the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Sølvberget Library and Cultural Centre, and Tou Scene, to name a few.

    Sølvberget Library and Cultural Centre

    Stavanger

    Sølvberget Library and Cultural Centre is located at Arneageren, right in the heart of Stavanger city centre. Sølvberget is Rogaland's most visited cultural institution, with more than 1.6 million visitors each year; a natural place to stop for both adults and children when visiting Stavanger city centre.

    Tou is one of Norway's largest independent cultural institutions, established in 2001. It is located in the old brewery premises of Tou Bryggerier in Stavanger East.

    Stavanger Cathedral is the only cathedral from the Middle Age that has kept its original architecture, and the only Norwegian cathedral in continuous use since the 1300s. Norway's best-kept cathedral is located only a stone's throw from the Stavanger harbour.

A cosy cultural venue in a retro setting offering a varied mix of music, poetry, dance and entertainment. The programme for autumn 2025 includes concerts with artists such as Johnny Red & The Prayerhouse People, Oliver Hohlbrugger and Significant Time.

Sola Kulturhus and Sola Ruinkyrkje

Autumn 2025 offers several highlights at Sola Kulturhus. Music lovers can enjoy a concert with Polish master pianist Greg Niemczuk and Ole Børud on tour with his new album, which promises high-quality, groovy pop and soul. At Sola Ruinkirke, you can enjoy a concert with Britt-Synnøve Johansen or a concert with Tom Roger Aadland – wonderful musical experiences in historic surroundings – perfect for those who want a little extra cultural depth on their trip.

Varen – Randaberg Cultural Scene, Randaberg

Varen Cultural Centre is an active cultural venue offering a wide range of events, from concerts to lectures and children's performances. Autumn 2025 offers concerts with artists such as Tønes and Vitenshitshow, as well as children's performances such as Magisk Bobleshow.

Museum Stavanger (MUST) brings together art, local history and maritime treasures, with Stavanger Art Museum, Stavanger Maritime Museum, the Norwegian Children's Museum, IDDIS Norwegian Graphic Museum and the Norwegian Canning Museum.

For a deeper insight into the past, visit the Archaeological Museum, the Iron Age Farm (open on weekends in September) and the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, which displays everything from archaeological finds to Norway's oil adventure.
