The island of Helgøy is known for being fertile in apples, pears, plums, morello cherries, and children! Around 40,000 fruit trees have been planted on the two orchards belonging to Helgøybakkane Fruit Farm. Helgøy has a long tradition of fruit growing. Today, Kristen and Anne Norunn run the farm. They offer a range of experiences for groups. Among other things, they have a beautiful function room called Epleriet with panoramic views, a farm shop and a kitchen. Here they produce their own jam, preserve morello cherries and dry apples. Epleriet welcomes groups by appointment.
