About 60 km southeast of Stavanger, where county road FV45 meets Gloppedalsveien and Maudalsveien, you will find one of the county's most popular crossroads.

The beaches at Jæren (Jærstrendene) are prominent landmarks and popular recreational areas. They are ideal for hiking all year round, and in summer, the beaches are popular for all sorts of water activities such as SUP, surfing, kiting or swimming.

Jørpeland is the closest town to the iconic Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock). The town has a rich selection of shops, and is the administration centre for Strand municipality in Ryfylke.

Ålgård is the largest town in Gjesdal municipality, situated around 30 km south of Stavanger. Following recent regeneration, the town centre was awarded Norway's prestigious National Prize for Architecture.

Experience the historical town of Egersund: A cosy town filled with wooden houses and a beautiful centre with restaurants, cafes and niche shops. All this and more only an hour from Stavanger.
