Island life can be great both summer and winter! A visit to this idyllic island out in the open sea gives you a feeling of tranquillity and closeness to nature. Just a short ferry ride away from Stavanger (Mekjarvik), and suddenly you are in Norway's smallest municipality, Kvitsøy.

The small village of Forsand in Sandnes municipality is located at the crossing point between the Lysefjord and the Høgsfjord i Ryfylke.

Sogndalstrand is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Rogaland. The village has pedestrian streets and small shops and galleries and a salmon river is floating through the village.

Ålgård is the largest town in Gjesdal municipality, situated around 30 km south of Stavanger. Following recent regeneration, the town centre was awarded Norway's prestigious National Prize for Architecture.
